Big Finny is an underground rapper, producer, drummer, engineer, and composer out of the Salem, Massachusetts area. He grew up in the suburbs of the DMV (D.C, Maryland, Virginia) area, and has recently moved to Salem, MA. He focuses on different aspects of music for different songs. Some songs have strong, catchy, melodic presence; while some convey a deeply meaningful message. Finn has always been drawn to strong melodies, unique flows and intense energy.
He initially started performing rock style music on stage as a vocalist through a show program at the age of 11. He took lessons on vocal technique and stage presence for 2 years, while he was teaching himself how to play the drums. He then switched over to drum lessons, while still performing as a vocalist and drummer. He also began to develop a deep interest for punk rock, and grunge. Through this, he developed a way to project a unique, pure, and intense on-stage energy and sound. At the age of 13, he began composing Rap music for artists in the DMV area, while still performing as a vocalist and drummer through a show program. His background in vocals and drumming allowed him to contribute towards other rappers melodies and flow by suggesting the alternative ideas/melodies that popped into his head. His ability to play the drums contributes to a unique flow and sound.
Currently Finn is focusing primarily on his music. He also produces beats and films music videos. He wants his music to be able to submerge someone simply in the sound, but also convey a strong, unique message for every song. In his music, Finn prefers raw expression of how things truly are: no filters, just his exact way of seeing things and how he feels put into a song.
